The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce is proud to have rejuvenated Manufacturing Day programs in Pittsburg and partners annually with the City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg Unified School District and Contra Costa County Office of Education.  In 2017, 30 Pittsburg students participated, but now with the partnerships, over 60 Pittsburg students will participate in this year’s event on October 5th -.part of 250 students overall.

On this introductory look into bean-to-bar chocolate making, visitors will be walked through each step of our production process in our working chocolate factory. Whether you work in academia, industry or in an advanced startup, or are just curious to learn about advanced manufacturing, robotics and the microfactory of the future, join us at Autodesk’s San Francisco facility on Pier 9 for an hour-long tour. You will hear stories, see artifacts and the machines that make them – advanced manufacturing equipment and robotics, and engage in dialog with the community of Autodeskers and residents.

The Autodesk Technology Centers collaborate with industry, academic, and entrepreneurial communities to speculate, validate, and test ideas about the future, and includes Technology Centers in Boston, San Francisco, and Toronto, each with a vibrant community of residents who use the facilities and have access to specific resources to support project needs.

Tour rules:

  • All participants must wear closed-toe shoes.
  • All participants must sign the Autodesk workshop waiver upon arriving at Pier 9.
    • Youth under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in advance of the tour (=> email events@sfmade.org to let us know!), and must have an adult chaperon accompany them on the tour.
    • Youth under 13 are not permitted in parts of the workshop.
  • Photography is permitted in many parts of the tour – bring a camera
